"Come a day there won't be room for naughty men like us to slip about at all. This job goes south, there well may not be another. So here is us, on the raggedy edge. Don't push me, and I won't push you."
Name: Capt. Mal Reynolds
Alignment: Third-Party
Designation: Hostile
Role: Alignment Cop
Background
You're Malcolm Reynolds, captain of the Serenity, proud Browncoat, a fighter for justice and a righter of wrongs. Also, you like getting paid. Paid is good. The first time you were embroiled in this sort of mafia game, your second-in-command Zoe was a traitor, your main squeeze Inara went a little crazy, and you held on to information for just a mite too long and ended up deader than dead because of it. At least, mostly dead, 'cause you're still here talking, ain't you?
While on a routine job with the rest of the crew, somehow you ended up here. You don't have a place in all this mess, and you don't recognize anybody else. Wherever your crew is, they ain't here and they're safe, which is good by you. Now you're just going to have to weasel your way out of another bad situation.
At the end of the day, you're a survivor. You may not like bad people, but hell, you make deals with people who've shot you before. If you need to side up with bad people to get through this, you will. But if you find the good people first, hey, they got a shot too. Whichever team lets you live and gives you the most pay, that'll be where you go.
And there isn't anything right or wrong about that. It's just survival.
Powers
1. Once per Night, you may choose a target to investigate. You will not return any information beyond their alignment. If you find Town or Scum, you will be given the option of joining their side at Dawn along with the information. You are not interested in Third Parties, and will not be given the option of joining one should you investigate one. You do not lose your investigative power once you pick a side. If you do not choose to pick that side by Dusk, your opportunity will be lost and you must investigate a new person (or the same person again) to get the opportunity at the next Dawn.
*NOTE:
Once you choose a side, you adopt their alignment and win condition and cannot change sides after that.
*SECOND NOTE:
If you choose to be Scum, a message will be sent to the Scum you investigated, letting them know who you are and that you've chosen to ally with them. You will not get to talk with the other Scum, but all results you get after will automatically also be given to the other Scum. Only if you are the last Scum standing will you be given the opportunity to execute the Scum Nightkill.
Win Condition
You have no win condition until you've chosen a side. You will always investigate as hostile regardless until you choose a side, and should you die before you choose a side, you lose.
